Byron Winkelman

I’ve been tattooing for over 35 years, and it’s been my life’s passion. I started at 15, and after years of traveling and tattooing around the country, I came home to Arizona and opened Black Lotus Tattooers in 2006.

I enjoy working on large-scale projects and specialize in neo-traditional, illustrative, blackwork, black and grey, Japanese, and geometric tattooing.

Some of my best work comes from when clients trust me with a concept and give me the creative freedom to run with it. This allows me to focus on strong design, flow, and composition while developing an idea into something unique. I may not see the finished piece in my head from the beginning. I continue refining, adjusting, and adding details until it feels complete.
