Byron Winkelman

I started tattooing at 15 years old and it has been my passion and career for over 30 years now. I am a native Arizonan, but have lived and traveled throughout the country, from North Carolina to LA, before settling back down in Arizona and opening Black Lotus Tattooers in April of 2006.

I enjoy creating a tattoo from an idea and watching it all come to life for the first time with my clients. I usually don’t see the image done in my head before I tattoo it. I continue to create as I go until I feel like it’s complete. I feel that I do my best work when my clients trust the artist I am and let me run with it.
